Destination IBIZA

You should save this article for your next trip to the White Island. Ibiza is so much more than just a party destination. Yes, it’s home to some of the best clubs in the world, and world-famous DJs take up residency there every summer. But this gorgeous Balearic island, located in the Mediterranean Sea just south of Barcelona, is also a haven of peace for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy Ibiza’s natural beauty.

I returned to the island this summer, and the excitement was through the roof! I LOVE Ibiza, the energy, the light, the sunsets. It’s such an inspiring place that truly recharges your soul.

Ibiza is known as one of the most spiritually charged places on Earth. Locals say that the island’s magnetic energy comes from Es Vedrà, a small, uninhabited rocky island off the southwest coast. There are many legends surrounding Es Vedrà. Some whisper that it’s home to sirens and spirits. Others believe it’s the tip of the sunken city of Atlantis. Another legend claims it’s the third most magnetic spot on Earth, after the North Pole and the Bermuda Triangle.

Long story short, Es Vedrà is Ibiza’s mystical landmark and there’s definitely something magical about this island!

I’m sharing my tips, favorite places, and things to do below. Hope you enjoy!

TIPS:

  • Go during the low season (May or September) to avoid the steep hotel prices. Another great trick is to look for brand-new hotels that have just opened. They often offer special promo rates (much lower than they should be) to attract bookings. That’s exactly what I did when planning our August trip!

I noticed that the Vibra Hotels Group was opening its first 4-star boutique hotel on the island in summer 2025 and I booked it before it even officially opened! We stayed at Vibra Yamm Sunset in late August 2025, just a few weeks after their grand opening on August 1st and scored an amazing deal. The same thing happened the first time we went to Ibiza a few years ago. We stayed at The Standard, which had just opened that season, and they offered incredible introductory rates.

  • Rent a scooter! It’s hands-down the best way to explore the island. Ibiza can get quite crowded, and parking a car is often a hassle. A scooter gives you freedom to zip around the narrow coastal roads, find hidden calas (beaches), and stop spontaneously for a swim or sunset view.

  • Download offline maps, mobile reception can be spotty in rural or coastal areas.

  • Book beach clubs and restaurants in advance, especially in summer. The popular ones fill up quickly.

  • Bring cash. Some smaller beach bars and local markets don’t accept cards.

WHAT TO DO:

  • Explore the calas (beaches). Ibiza is full of stunning coves with crystal-clear water. I’m sharing some of my favorites below.

  • See a world-famous DJ at one of the island’s legendary clubs. It’s a must if you want to experience Ibiza’s iconic nightlife.

  • Go shopping in Santa Gertrudis or Ibiza Old Town for chic boutiques, local art, and unique finds.

  • Visit the lively hippy market, Las Dalias, to shop handmade products, enjoy live music, and grab some delicious local food.

  • Watch the sunset over Es Vedrà from Cala d’Hort. It’s one of the most magical views on the island.

  • Head to Cala Benirràs (in the north) to experience the famous drumming ritual at sunset, a true Ibiza-style hippy gathering.

  • For a more “posh” experience, go to Café del Mar or Café Mambo to watch the sunset with a cocktail in hand and the perfect chill-out soundtrack.
